Merry Christmas everyone! This year's tree trek was so much nicer than the last few. In Utah, we had to drive to Idaho to get a tree permit ($5). Then drive back a separate day to get a tree. Ok, we only lived 30 minutes from the border but where we got the tree took an eternity on a bumpy road. Jeffrey loved it because it comfirmed to him how great it is to have a truck! We would park on BLM property and hike for days to find the perfect tree (according to the expert Jeffrey). All the while keeping Ginger within sight. We all know how well she listens when she is on the hunt (not at all!) This year we found the tree within 10 minutes at a cut your own farm 20 minutes from our house. I even got breakfast out of the deal!

Snow and a Quilt
I have no experience in the quilting department (does it count the time I watched my Aunt make one?). This is what I came up with from the help of a nice little pattern( I did a little changing to it). And no this is not a gender specific quilt...

Autumn Overflowing
This spring when all the flowers came up we discovered that all we had in the flower bed were mums and some evergreen shrubs. I planted some annuals and some cuttings from my mother-in-law. We were really just waiting for September when the garden would begin to bloom. Well here it is! Most of them have toppled over because of their size ( I am talking waist high folks!) and we will definitely stake them next year. The back... It was pretty with the light and I don't think the picture does it justice.
Duke came to visit on his way home from working in Canada.
The Belly... (and huge pants that won't stay up! What's new I guess?)

Burning Question(s)
Everyone has been asking if we (A) had an ultrasound yet and (B) do we know the gender. Let me answer it for you. We had an ultrasound at 18 weeks. I am now at 20 (yeah halfway!) We both thought it was so amazing that we forget to ask what it was. Just kidding! I am pretty much on the fence with finding out the gender now or waiting. My friend (MK) suggested writing it an envelope. That way the options are open. The ultrasound technician kept scanning down there and saying legs crossed so I thought that maybe the decision was made for us. Anyway, at the end she had something to write down for us and said she didn't want to clue us in. I thanked her because she did a good job at just that!
One more thing, Jeffrey wants to know pretty bad and I was teasing him that maybe I taped it to the Vacuum or hid it with the cleaning supplies and he would never find it. I think he got the hint and actually took out the vacuum and used it AND he even moved furniture for a more thorough clean!
IF YOU DON'T HAVE TIME TO READ THIS BABBLING HERE ARE THE ANSWERS:
(A) Yes
(B) No

Toronto
Jeffrey and I took our last vacation before our lives turn upside down. We went to Toronto for labor day and we had a blast. Unfortunately, a series of events led to us forgetting our camera. There is no actual proof that we went. Here are some of the things we did (if you want to believe me!): The CNE, China town for dinner, A show called Avenue Q, the Zoo, and Niagara -on-the-lake to name a few. We also got to use their extensive Subway, Train, and bus system. We had a great time!

A Day at School!
Here is Jen, Alice (the baby) and I with our favorite professor Patrice! We got to meet in the studio and it smelled and looked the same. Here are Jen and Alice at the new Science building. Jen and I both were sad that it sorta took over the green.
Me!
Me!
This is one of my favorite views on campus. I got to have this scene my entire Sophmore year and it was an amazing view with the sunsets. Jeffrey and I would go and sit beyond the parking lot and just watch. It was very peaceful. I was so glad that Jen invited me to go with her, Alice and Susanne (her mom). I had a blast!

Move to My Town!
Look how great it is around here (Ken)! Check out all the manly things you can do in my town (Ken)...
You can steal river rocks four at a time for months on end and you could end up with a sweet patio like mine. If you move to my town I will tell you where all the hotspots are. Jeffrey is halfway done. You can build tons of fires in my town. Notice two firepits in the picture. There is also another in the woods for huge fires. You can be manly and drink beer while stoking it.
You can become a part time lumberjack and stack your wood so it makes a natural fence. You can stand and admire it with a manly beer in your hands.
In my town, you can build your own bridges and set up an archery target right in your own backyard. How manly is that?
Did I mention tons of biking trails, skiing, a kegger festival twice a year, and so many more manly things in my town! p.s. These are Jeffrey's activities described to a "T".

Decorator's Home Showcase
Yesterday afternoon I went to a homeshow with my Mother-In-Law and her friend, Bernadette. Not just any home show. There were 8 spectacular homes to tour with amazing furnishings, and decorating. We left with lots of ideas. I took a few pictures of our favorite house although they don't do it justice!
I liked the juxtaposition of the pumpkin with the tourquoise. The bathroom's walls had a really pretty pattern painted on it also.

Blueberries!
Jeffrey and I went blueberry picking on a warm Saturday morning. We managed to gather 10 pounds in an hour! This is the early season right now. We are looking forward to going back for more until September.
I made a pie and lots of muffins to eat and freeze. We also froze 12 cups of blueberries. I think I might make a crisp for my Dad's birthday this Saturday.

Craft Project
I wanted to share this fun way to display an antique spoon collection (or fishing lures, jewelry, buttons, etc.). I needed one little thing to hang next to my vinyl letters in the kitchen so I came up with this display idea. All you need is something to display, a tea towel (antique or new), ribbon and an embroidery hoop. Oh and hot glue to glue the towel onto the back. Pretty self explanatory...
One led to three which will lead to one more. I need to balance the right side out still. To be continued...
