Golfing?

Jeffrey, Coy and Gerry decided to go golfing. They were a team against three lovely ladies. Needless to say they got their asses kicked! Here are some pictures from that adventure. (I will mention that Jeffrey brought some of his home brew)

Here are some of the follys that happened:
Gerry burning out.

Gerry getting stuck. I guess the lesson learned is Gerry is not allowed to drive...ever! Oh yeah, did I forget to mention Coy actually tipped the cart over? He isn't allowed to drive either.

The Spiral Jetty

If you live in Northern Utah it is your obligation to go see the Spiral Jetty. It was a somewhat long, bumpy drive but I think it was worth it. Bring along a picnic and make it an afternoon. Where else can you see earth art like this so close to home?
Robert Smithson's monumental earthwork Spiral Jetty (1970) is located on the Great Salt Lake in Utah. Using black basalt rocks and earth from the site, the artist created a coil 1500 feet long and 15 feet wide that stretches out counterclockwise into the translucent red water (taken from spiral jetty.org).
Here is a really interesting article to check out about it: http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=980DE0DF113BF930A25753C1A9649C8B63

Snow way!

Well it has been unseasonably cold here this month (at least in my opinion). We've had a couple days with hail. It's so crazy! This picture was taken on our back porch. See the hail coming down?

We took this picture on a walk in Mantua. Besides my hair looking like a wig, the background looks fake also, right?

Hunting Puppies

Jeffrey and Ginger got their first Hungarian Partridge this past week.
They were both very proud and everyone got to try it. Jeffrey cooked it in the oven wrapped in swiss chard (from the garden) and bacon.

Caramel Apples

My Friend, Meghan, and I decided to be Martha Stewarty. We made really spectacular caramel apples. Don't you want to lick your screen? Here is the before picture (above) and the after picture (below).

My little friend, Scott, said they were the best caramel apples he has ever had (I will add that it was the first time he had them!) and if anyone ever made him another it would not be as good as the one I made. So sweet!
